I run a wood workshop in Essex and have been involved in the design and manufacture of designer flat pack furniture for about a decade. During Covid, my partner Jo and I got back in to board gaming. As our passion for the hobby was re-ignited and continued to grow, I wanted to create a better, more usable space for our cardboard adventures.
I looked around at buying a gaming table, but what I found was either too chunky/cumbersome for our space, or was priced well beyond what we wanted to spend, with all the cheaper alternatives looking either flimsy or lacking in features.
So, with my experience in woodworking and furniture I set out on a side quest to design our ideal board game table…

After a couple of years tinkering with designs and rough prototypes, a moment of clarity during a much-needed break led to the creation of what is now known as ‘Minerva,’ our flagship table.
I wanted Minerva to be something special—elegant, not immediately recognisable as a game table, and unlike anything else I’d come across. A table that would seamlessly blend into any home while still offering the features and functionality expected from a high-quality game table. My goal was to strike the perfect balance between style, versatility, and affordability, without compromising on quality.
With the design settled on, we needed a name. Something captured the spirit of the worlds and experiences the table would be host to.
And so, Arcadia Game Tables was born.
With the launch of Minerva completed our sights are now set on the other designs which have been bubbling away in the background during it’s development.
More accessories? – You bet!
Maybe some seating? – Absolutely!
